Azerbaijan sends 82 tons of aid to Iran ahead of Novruz holiday photo
Azerbaijan has dispatched another shipment of humanitarian aid to Iran, totalling 82 tons, following instructions from President Ilham Aliyev, as per domestic media reports.
The delivery follows a phone conversation held on March 8, 2026, between President Aliyev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which the leaders discussed supporting the needs of the Iranian population. The latest shipment, sent on March 18, is intended to address the current needs of what was described as a neighbouring and friendly nation.
According to reports, the aid package includes a range of essential goods. Of the total 82 tons, 76 tons consist of food and other consumable products, 4 tons comprise medicines, and 2 tons include medical supplies.
The humanitarian cargo is being transported to Iran by five trucks.
In addition, given that the assistance is being delivered ahead of Novruz, the shipment also contains holiday gifts associated with the celebration.
