Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, is on an official visit to Serbia, leading a delegation, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the visit, the delegation travelled to Tašmajdan Park in Belgrade, where they laid wreaths at monuments dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent Serbian writer Milorad Pavić, as well as at a memorial complex honouring Milica Rakić.
Hasanov later held talks with Serbia’s Minister of Defence, Bratislav Gašić. The two sides conducted a detailed exchange of views on the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation across military, military-technical and military-education sectors.
They also discussed regional security issues and a range of other matters of mutual interest, according to the ministry.
As part of the programme, Hasanov is scheduled to attend the “Distinguished Visitors Day” at the international tactical exercise Platinum Wolf-2026, taking place near the city of Bujanovac.
