Azerbaijan sets preconditions for final peace agreement with Armenia
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has emphasized that the signing of the initialed peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia is conditional upon constitutional reforms in Armenia and the full implementation of obligations under the TRIPP project.
In his remarks while presenting Azerbaijan’s year-end 2025 report, FM Bayramov highlighted that confidence-building measures between the two countries have involved active engagement from civil society, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“In November, Azerbaijani and Armenian representatives met in Gabala to discuss border delimitation. Earlier, in January and February, similar meetings were held online. Additionally, approval was granted for the transit of Kazakh grain to Armenia via Azerbaijani territory. Nevertheless, the conclusion of a final peace agreement is contingent upon the fulfillment of the conditions we have outlined,” the minister stated.
He added that the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia has emerged as a significant step toward achieving lasting regional peace. Bayramov also noted that the Washington summit played a pivotal role in advancing these efforts.
