Azerbaijan sets up 140 frontier-combat points on border with Armenia – border chief
Azerbaijan is implementing comprehensive measures on the de-occupied territories to create necessary border guard infrastructures, improve the conditions of service and social security of military personnel.
An article by Chief of the State Border Service (SBS) Col-Gen Elchin Guliyev by the official media reads, Report says.
He emphasised that 19 new military units responsible for organizing the protection and defense of the state border with Armenia were built, 140 border combat points were created, Eyvazli and Gazanchi checkpoints were set up, and border control was organized at the Fuzuli and Zangilan international airports.
Elchin Guliyev noted that 106 kilometers of new roads were laid in the territories liberated from occupation, major and current repairs of 225 kilometers of roads were carried out, an area of 2,456 hectares was cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, 1,530 anti-personnel, 1,762 anti-tank mines and 294 unexploded ordnances were identified and neutralized.
