Azerbaijan showcases advanced military capabilities to Guinea-Bissau president
Umaro Sissoco Embaló, the President of Guinea-Bissau, toured one of the Azerbaijani Army’s commando military units during his official visit to the country.
The Guinean delegation was accompanied by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, Caliber.Az reports.
The visit began with a formal reception ceremony, which included a guard of honor to welcome the distinguished guests. Following the ceremony, President Embaló was introduced to a new simulation tool developed by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence Industry, showcased in the military unit's gym. He then observed the sports training of Azerbaijani military personnel, highlighting the focus on physical fitness and preparedness.
The delegation toured various facilities within the military unit, including the indoor shooting range, soldiers' dormitories, armory, warehouse, ideological workspace, and other administrative areas. They also visited the unit’s canteen, where they were briefed on the living and operational conditions for the personnel.
An exhibition was organized to showcase a range of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), weapons, vehicles, special equipment, and other combat technologies produced by the Ministry of Defence Industry, along with contributions from companies such as RTX and Improtex. The delegation was provided with detailed information about the tactical and technical characteristics of the weapons, ammunition, and combat hardware currently in service with the Azerbaijani Army, gaining insights into their use and operational efficiency.
The visit concluded with an exchange of gifts between the two sides and the taking of commemorative photographs, marking the successful and cordial meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Guinea-Bissau.
