Azerbaijan showcases policies advancing gender equality
Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, has outlined the country’s efforts to advance gender equality and expand women’s empowerment while addressing the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians in Belgrade.
Gafarova provided information on ongoing initiatives in Azerbaijan aimed at ensuring gender equality, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
She emphasized that a range of measures are being implemented in the country to combat domestic violence, eliminate discrimination, and expand women’s opportunities in education and employment.
Gafarova noted that presidential decrees signed by President Ilham Aliyev, along with national action plans and state programs, have ensured a comprehensive approach to strengthening women’s rights and have contributed to significant progress in this area.
The Speaker also stressed the importance of further advancing policies aimed at achieving full gender equality.
