Azerbaijan signs UN convention on Intl settlement agreements
On April 23, Ambassador Tofig F. Musayev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UN, signed, UN Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation.
According to Caliber.Az, information about this has been posted on the Permanent Mission’s page on the social network X.
"Today, Ambassador Tofig F. Musayev, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, visited the UN Office of Legal Affairs to sign, on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, adopted in New York on 20 December 2018," the statement reads.
Notably, the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, known as the Singapore Convention, entered into force on 12 September 2020.
It governs international commercial settlement agreements, allowing parties to enforce them directly, providing a reliable framework for resolving cross-border disputes as an alternative to court proceedings.
