Azerbaijan signs UN Framework to drive inclusive growth, sustainable development

Azerbaijan and the United Nations have formalized a Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030.

Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov announced the agreement on his X account, Caliber.Az reports.

The framework outlines collaboration across several strategic priorities, including inclusive socio-economic growth, human capital development, environmental sustainability, climate adaptation, and the transition to a green economy.

The signing ceremony took place during an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. Minister Jabbarov highlighted that the partnership presents new opportunities for promoting sustainable development and enhancing Azerbaijan’s national economic model.

This collaboration opens new opportunities for sustainable progress and reinforces effective mechanisms that strengthen Azerbaijan’s economic development model.

As part of the event, the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030 was signed between the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, marking a new phase in our joint efforts. The Framework sets out strategic priorities, including inclusive socio-economic growth and human capital development, ecosystem protection, climate resilience, green growth, and ensuring a just transition toward sustainability,” Jabbarov said in his post.
