Azerbaijan, Slovakia discuss joint initiatives in legal, human rights spheres

Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Chairman Farhad Abdullayev has met with a Slovak delegation led by Ombudsman Robert Dobrovodsky during an official visit to Azerbaijan, the authorities said on April 9.

Abdullayev underlined that relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia are characterised by a strategic partnership, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

He briefed the delegation on the work of the Constitutional Court, ongoing judicial and legal reforms in Azerbaijan, and measures aimed at strengthening human rights protections. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsman’s institution.

Dobrovodsky, for his part, stressed the significance of developing bilateral ties, including closer collaboration in the judicial and legal sphere. He emphasised the value of mutual exchange of experience in the field of human rights protection.

The sides also discussed prospects for future cooperation and the potential implementation of joint initiatives.
