Azerbaijan, Slovenia discuss potential cooperation on humanitarian demining
Azerbaijan and Slovenia have discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said on April 17.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Baku with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, Bayramov said the two sides explored opportunities to work together on demining efforts, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We discussed the possibility of cooperation in demining,” he said.
Bayramov reiterated that landmines planted by Armenia continue to pose a major obstacle to reconstruction efforts in territories recaptured by Azerbaijan, as well as to the return of internally displaced persons to their homes.
To recall, an extended meeting is being held between Bayramov and Fajon. The sides discussed cooperation opportunities in energy, digital innovation, environmental sustainability, education, and tourism, and exchanged views on regional security, connectivity, and multilateral coordination.
