Baku, Seoul deepen dialogue on regional partnership priorities
On April 29, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun, discussing the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations as well as regional cooperation.
The importance of participation by Korean companies in projects implemented in Azerbaijan was highlighted, along with the existence of broad opportunities for further expansion of economic cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.
The role of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties was also emphasised.
The ministers stressed the importance of intensifying mutual visits and consultation mechanisms between the foreign ministries and reviewed cooperation within regional platforms.
In this context, Cho Hyun positively assessed Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
The phone conversation also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
