Azerbaijan, South Korea discuss development of ties in defence industry

Azerbaijani Defence Industry Minister Madat Guliyev met with Korean Deputy Defence Minister Sung Il at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Korea on October 19.

Ministry of Defence Industry told Caliber.Az that at the meeting Madat Guliyev thanked Sung Il for the invitation and expressed confidence that this working visit would make an important contribution to the further development of relations between the two countries, particularly in the field of defence industry.

Sung Il talked about Azerbaijani students receiving military education in Korea and expressed confidence that Azerbaijani-Korean ties in the defence industry and other sectors will develop as successfully as in education.

Earlier, Madat Guliyev met with his South Korean counterpart Eom Dong-hwan.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition SEOUL ADEX 2023 in the capital of South Korea, Seoul.

The Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister Madat Guliyev is taking part in the exhibition as a guest.

The parties discussed technological innovations in the defense industry, relations between Azerbaijan and Korea in the military-technical field, and prospects for further cooperation.

The exhibition, which will last until October 22, is organized by the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), with the support of the Korea Aerospace Industry Association (KAIA) and the Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA).
