Azerbaijan, Spain discuss future economic partnership PHOTO
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and Secretary of State for Trade at the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Maria Amparo López Senovilla have discussed prospects for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
“We met with Amparo López Senovilla, Spain’s Secretary of State for Trade, to discuss prospects for strengthening economic cooperation between our countries. We also highlighted the significance of the Azerbaijan–Spain Business Forum and the 1st meeting of the Strategic Economic Dialogue, both held today, in fostering collaboration between our business communities,” Caliber.Az reports, citing Jabbarov’s message on X.
During her visit to Azerbaijan, López Senovilla participated in the Azerbaijan-Spain Business Forum on March 11, as well as engaged in a series of high-level meetings with Azerbaijani officials and business leaders. The business forum featured notable representatives from Spain’s Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE).
The event was organised as part of a broader trade mission spearheaded by the Spanish Trade and Economic Office in collaboration with the Association of Agricultural Producers (AGRAGEX). The primary aim of the mission was to explore the business opportunities within Azerbaijan’s agricultural and agro-industrial sectors. Spanish companies had the chance to either enter the Azerbaijani market or broaden their existing presence. This move was expected to facilitate stronger business ties and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
