Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares Bueno, on March 1 to discuss the escalating security situation in the Middle East.
During the call, they exchanged views on the current tense security situation and military escalation in the Middle East region, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The importance of maintaining stability in the region was emphasised, and the significance of diplomatic channels and political dialogue in preventing further escalation was noted.
Given the current circumstances, they also discussed possible cooperation regarding the safety of foreign nationals in the escalation zone, including the potential evacuation of Spanish citizens in Iran through Azerbaijani territory, if necessary.
