Azerbaijan State Security Service condoles with Türkiye, Pakistan over deadly terrorist attacks
The State Security Service (SSS) expressed condolences to Türkiye and Pakistan over deadly terrorist attacks.
The corresponding publication was posted on the State Security Service’s Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
“We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on the General Security Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Türkiye on October 1, wish healing to the police officers injured in the incident, and express our support for brotherly Türkiye on behalf of the personnel of the State Security Service.
At the same time, we express our deep regret at the large number of casualties due to the terrorist attacks carried out in the Mastung and Hangu regions of Pakistan. We express our solidarity with the Pakistani people, as well as condolences to the families of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded,” the statement said.
Two attackers detonated a bomb in front of Turkish government buildings in Ankara on October 1, leaving both of them dead and two police officers wounded, and a Kurdish militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Authorities called it the first terrorist attack in the capital in years.
The blast killed one of the attackers and authorities "neutralised", or killed, the other, the interior minister said of the incident that rattled a central district that is home to ministerial buildings and nearby parliament.
Furthermore, a suspected suicide bomber or bombers blew themselves up on September 29 among a crowd in the Mastung district. It was one of the deadliest attacks targeting civilians in Pakistan in months. Nearly 70 people were wounded, including five who remain in very critical condition, authorities said.
On the same day, a blast ripped through a mosque located on the premises of a police station in Hangu, a district in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, killing at least five people and wounding seven.
