Azerbaijan to host 16th OIC Islamic Summit

The 16th Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026.

This was confirmed at the 15th Islamic Summit of the OIC in the Republic of Gambia, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The Final Communiqué adopted on the results of the Summit in Banjul called for cooperation in the implementation of the Summit to be organized in Baku in this direction.

The Communiqué also welcomed the VI World Forum of Intercultural Dialogue organized within the framework of "Baku Process", as well as called for more equitable distribution of geographical representation in the UN system, especially in the structure of the Security Council.
