Azerbaijan will host joint military exercises involving six countries — Türkiye, Pakistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan — the Ministry of Defence announced during a planning conference for the Power of Unity–2026 Joint Military Exercise.
The event was hosted at the Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum operating under the National Defence University and brought together military delegations from the above-mentioned countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
Addressing the participants, Lieutenant General Azer Aliyev underscored the steady development of military cooperation among the participating states.
He stated that the main goals of the Power of Unity – 2026 exercise are to strengthen collaboration between the armed forces of the participating countries, improve the practical skills of military personnel, promote the exchange of operational experience and contribute to lasting peace and security.
Delegates received a detailed briefing on the exercise's objectives, operational scenario and the combat training activities planned within the framework of the drills.
During the conference, participants also carried out reconnaissance of the designated training area and finalised the exercise tasks assigned to the contingents.
The event concluded with the signing of the final protocol by the participating countries, after which the delegations exchanged views on a range of other issues of mutual interest.
