Azerbaijan opens embassy in Kenya PHOTO/UPDATED
Azerbaijan officially opened its embassy in Kenya on June 3, with a formal inauguration ceremony held in Nairobi during Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s visit.
Bayramov attended the event alongside Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Minister, Musalia Mudavadi, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani ministry’s statement on X.

The two officials assessed the opening of the diplomatic mission as a crucial step towards sustaining and strengthening Azerbaijani-Kenyan inter-state relations, facilitating communication and promoting cooperation.
Bayramov also thanked the Kenyan government and acknowledged the favourable environment and conditions created by Kenya as the host country for the proper functioning of the diplomatic mission.

Azerbaijan is set to open its embassy in the Republic of Kenya, marking a key milestone in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov departed for Nairobi on June 2. He will participate in the embassy’s opening ceremony, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry’s statement on X.

During the visit, Bayramov is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with high-ranking Kenyan officials.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya were formally established on May 28, 2004. Since then, both countries have taken steps to strengthen bilateral ties.
A major milestone in the relationship came on November 18, 2022, when President Ilham Aliyev signed Order No. N636VIQ, officially approving the establishment of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Nairobi, Kenya.
