Azerbaijan to participate in WIPO member states assembly
Azerbaijan will take part in the 68th session of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), which will be held in Geneva from July 7 to 15.
The Azerbaijani delegation will participate both in person and online and will be led by Kamran Imanov, Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of Azerbaijan.
As part of the Assembly’s general debate, Imanov is scheduled to deliver an address in an online format.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) is a specialised agency of the United Nations that promotes and protects intellectual property (IP) worldwide through services for patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, while fostering international cooperation.
It was established in 1967 by the WIPO Convention (which entered into force in 1970), succeeding earlier international bureaus dating back to the 1880s Paris and Berne Conventions, and has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
WIPO serves as a global forum for IP policy discussions, provides technical assistance, and supports innovation and creativity for economic, social, and cultural development across its member states.
