Azerbaijan to showcase climate change adaptation at COP29 FAO official says
Representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan Muhammad Nasar Hayat has highlighted the significance of the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change scheduled to be held in Baku this November.
In an interview with Report, Hayat emphasized that COP29 presents a valuable opportunity for Azerbaijan to demonstrate and share its experiences, particularly from the prospects of the region. He noted that this platform will enable Azerbaijan to showcase its efforts in climate change adaptation and position itself as a global leader in this critical area.
"This is one of the best events for Azerbaijan in 2024," Hayat stated. "On the margins of COP29, the Investment Forum for Central Asia will also be held."
Highlighting the significance of the event, Hayat mentioned that the participation of the United Nations at COP29 will be at the highest level. He emphasized that Azerbaijan's involvement in COP29 offers a prime opportunity for the country to play a pivotal role in global climate change negotiations and discussions.
