Azerbaijan, Türkiye advance naval cooperation in hydrography, navigation PHOTO
A delegation from the Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography Department of the Turkish Naval Forces has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan to strengthen bilateral cooperation in maritime data, standards, and technological development.
During a meeting held at the headquarters of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, the parties discussed the preparation of next-generation electronic navigational data, the adoption of international standards, and the exchange of professional expertise, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
As part of the visit, the Turkish delegation also shared its experience and held detailed consultations with specialists from the Hydrography Department of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces. Discussions focused on the gathering and processing of hydrographic data, the development of S-101 Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs), and the enhancement of digital navigation systems within the S-100 framework.
Both sides emphasized that such engagements play a significant role in further deepening the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye and in expanding opportunities for joint activities in the fields of hydrography, navigation, and oceanography.
