Azerbaijan, Türkiye boost military-technical cooperation at SAHA EXPO 2024 PHOTO

On October 22, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, attended the SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul, an international exhibition focused on defence, aviation, and space industries.

During the event, he met with Haluk Görgün, the Chairman of Türkiye's Defence Industry Agency, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defence Industry, the meeting focused on prospects for the development of existing cooperation and the expansion of ties in the military-technical field.

During the talks, the importance of international defence events was emphasised, with specific praise for the professional organisation of the SAHA EXPO 2024 exhibition.

The two sides also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.

Notably, the SAHA EXPO 2024, an international exhibition focused on the defence, aviation, and space sectors, commenced in Istanbul on October 22.

Azerbaijan is being represented by Azərsilah, a defence industry holding under the Ministry of Defence Industry. The Azerbaijani pavilion showcases 57 types of defence equipment, including sniper rifles, mortars, assault rifles, heavy machine guns, automatic cannons, grenade launchers, and ammunition.

This year’s event features over 1,478 companies from 120 countries, alongside 178 foreign and 312 official delegations, including 25 ministers. In addition to the exhibition, panel discussions will address key defence issues such as leadership in technological transformations, space industry development, artificial intelligence, cyber warfare, and entrepreneurship in the defence sector.

The event will also include contract signings, B2B meetings, and drone competitions. During October 22-24, it will be open to industry professionals, while the general public can visit from 25 to 26 October. The expo is expected to draw more than 150,000 professionals.
