Azerbaijan, Türkiye conclude joint “TurAz Qartalı-2026” air training drills Photo
The joint tactical flight exercise “TurAz Qartalı-2026,” conducted by the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, concluded on May 2 with a formal debriefing session for participants.
Mlitary pilots from both countries carried out coordinated flight operations and successfully completed all assigned mission objectives during the training, Caliber.Az reports per Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.
The exercise included detailed mission planning, reconnaissance of air defenсe assets and other targets, and the transmission of intelligence to a Joint Air Operations Centre for simulated engagement.
Participants also conducted operations aimed at improving flight proficiency under varying conditions, including exchange flights designed to familiarise crews with new techniques and weapon systems. The exercise further assessed air defenсe performance under simulated electronic warfare conditions.
The ministry said the pilots’ performance was highly evaluated by instructors, who praised their professionalism and operational effectiveness.
At the conclusion of the exercise, participants were also presented with mutual gifts, marking the end of the joint training programme.
