Azerbaijan, Türkiye defence chiefs meet, discuss military cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler, during which the two sides discussed the current state and prospects of military, military-technical, and military-educational cooperation between the two countries.
The sides highlighted the importance of ongoing joint projects and exercises, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan.
Zakir Hasanov, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, is on a working visit to Türkiye to take part in the Distinguished Visitors Day of the multinational EFES-2026 joint military exercises.
Other participants include First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff Kerim Veliyev, who also met with his Turkish counterpart, Army General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.
A total of 10,300 military personnel from 50 countries are taking part in the exercises, including servicemen from the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
