Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss strengthening healthcare cooperation
A high-level meeting took place at Azerbaijan's Health Ministry with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgün, focusing on deepening bilateral cooperation in healthcare and medical science.
Welcoming the guest, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev highlighted the deep historical, spiritual, and cultural ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry’s press service.
He noted that the partnership between the two countries, based on brotherhood, historical and cultural connections, mutual respect, and trust, is at its highest stage of development.
Musayev stressed that official links between the healthcare institutions of both countries have existed since the early years of Azerbaijan’s modern independence. He described cooperation in healthcare and medical science as exemplary: “The Azerbaijani delegation participated in the XI Medical Congress of the Turkic World held in Ankara. Such international platforms are important not only for exchanging experience but also for defining our shared priorities for the future.”
The minister also emphasised that digitalisation of the healthcare system is a key priority for the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, noting: “Training doctors in artificial intelligence and digital technologies is one of the main tasks set before the ministry.”
In conclusion, Musayev expressed hope for continued successful development of cooperation in healthcare, medical science, and other fields.
Ambassador Birol Akgün thanked the ministry for the warm reception and underlined that Azerbaijani–Turkish brotherly relations, built on shared historical and national-spiritual values, are a clear demonstration of unity and solidarity.
He noted the importance of the XI Medical Congress of the Turkic World, stating that such events are crucial for aligning the healthcare systems of both countries and advancing global medicine.
The meeting, held in a spirit of mutual understanding, included a fruitful exchange of views on further healthcare cooperation.
