Azerbaijan, Türkiye mull strengthening defence ties
Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, is currently visiting Türkiye to participate in the international defence and aerospace exhibition SAHA EXPO-2024.
As part of his visit, Mustafayev met with Turkish Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, and President of Secretariat of Defence Industries under the Presidency of Türkiye, Haluk Gorgun, Caliber.Az reports.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the defence industry. Azerbaijan is represented at the exhibition by "Azərsilah" Defence Industry Holding, showcasing 57 different defence products, including sniper rifles, mortars of various calibres, automatic rifles, large-calibre machine guns, automatic guns, grenade launchers, and ammunition.
SAHA EXPO International Defence and Aerospace Exhibition is organized every two years by SAHA Istanbul, the largest industrial cluster in Türkiye and Europe with more than 1200 companies and 29 universities, under the auspices of the Presidency of Türkiye and with the participation and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Secretariat of Defence Industries and other civilian and military public institutions, and under the organization of SAHA EXPO Inc.
