Azerbaijan, Türkiye officials discuss investment opportunities in Nakhchivan PHOTO
High-level Azerbaijani and Turkish officials met in Nakhchivan on September 12 to strengthen bilateral ties and explore regional development initiatives.
Fuad Najafli, the authorized representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, welcomed a delegation led by Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Head of the Turkic States Relations Department, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the enduring Azerbaijan-Türkiye friendship and brotherhood, tracing its roots to the Nakhchivan period of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s political career. Officials emphasised Nakhchivan’s strategic importance for the Turkic world and its growing role in regional connectivity.
Against the realisation of the Zangezur Corridor, a transport project expected to enhance regional stability and economic growth, the delegation reviewed opportunities to deepen cooperation. Discussions focused on potential joint investment projects in transportation, logistics, and mining within the Nakhchivan region.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of commemorative gifts and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
