Azerbaijan and Türkiye reaffirmed their strategic alliance and pledged to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors during high-level meetings in Baku, where Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hosted Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci.

During the talks, the sides emphasised the enduring strength of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye alliance, grounded in the 2021 Shusha Declaration, which formalised the two nations’ allied relations. They underscored the importance of expanding collaboration in political, security, economic, energy, transport, communications, and cultural-humanitarian spheres in line with the directives of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Caliber.Az reports per Foreign Ministry.

Both parties praised the two countries’ close coordination in international organisations, particularly within the Organization of Turkic States, described as a “family.” They expressed confidence that the summit held earlier this year in Qabala would further bolster the unity and effectiveness of the organisation.

Minister Bayramov briefed his Turkish counterpart on the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation process, including the latest outcomes of the Washington summit, and the two sides also exchanged views on pressing regional and international security issues, such as developments in Gaza, Syria, and several African countries.

Later the same day, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Türkiye held the next round of political consultations, chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci, to discuss mechanisms for implementing the two nations’ allied agenda.
