Azerbaijan, Türkiye review future joint military activities in Baku talks PHOTO
On April 28, senior army commanders from Azerbaijan and Türkiye held talks in Baku to discuss the expansion of bilateral military cooperation and joint training activities, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said.
Deputy Defence Minister of Azerbaijan and Commander of the Land Forces, Colonel General Hikmat Mirzayev, met with Turkish Land Forces Commander Army General Metin Tokel, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
As part of the visit, the Turkish delegation laid flowers at the bust of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev and observed a minute of silence in memory of Aliyev and Azerbaijani servicemen killed in action.

During the official ceremony, both commanders reviewed a guard of honour, with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye performed.
The sides held what was described as a detailed exchange of views on the current state and future development of military cooperation between the two countries.
According to the ministry, discussions focused in particular on the importance of joint and multinational exercises in improving the professionalism and operational readiness of troops.
Both sides also addressed other issues of mutual interest, the statement added.
