Azerbaijan, Türkiye sign new defence agreement on armoured vehicles
Azerbaijan and Türkiye have signed a new defence cooperation agreement focused on the modernisation of armoured vehicles during the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul.
The memorandum of understanding was signed between MIRAS, a military-industrial company operating under Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry, and Turkish defence manufacturer Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE).
According to local media, the agreement covers cooperation in the field of armoured vehicle modernisation.
The signing took place on the sidelines of SAHA 2026, one of the region’s major international defence exhibitions.
Military-industrial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has expanded rapidly in recent years, with both countries increasing joint projects and defence coordination.
The latest agreement is expected to contribute to the further development of strategic partnership ties between Baku and Ankara in the defence sector.
