Azerbaijan, Türkiye strengthen bonds with joint fast-breaking evening meal in Ankara during Ramadan
Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has announced that in a gesture of shared brotherhood and unity, the delegations of Azerbaijan and Türkiye gathered for a joint iftar (fast-breaking evening meal of Muslims in Ramadan) in Ankara, marking a special occasion during the holy month of Ramadan.
Hajiyev shared details on his official X page, highlighting that the joint iftar took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, serving as an opportunity to further strengthen the bonds between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is considered one of the holiest months for Muslims worldwide. It is a time of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Muslims believe that during Ramadan, the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
Fasting during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and adherents refrain from food, drink, smoking from dawn until sunset. The fast is seen as a means of purifying the body and soul, fostering empathy for the less fortunate, and strengthening one's connection with God.
