Azerbaijan, Türkiye strengthen ties as ambassadors hold strategic talks
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Rashad Mammadov, has met with Türkiye’s newly appointed ambassador to Baku, Birol Akgün.
Mammadov shared details of their discussion on X, highlighting the importance of the meeting in the context of bilateral ties, Caliber.Az reports.
“We discussed the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye and exchanged views on steps to further enhance our cooperation. I am confident that, in close collaboration with my esteemed colleague, we will do our utmost to strengthen the bonds between our brotherly nations,” Mammadov wrote.
Ambassador Akgün is set to begin his tenure in Azerbaijan in February.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership and maintain robust cooperation across various sectors.
Notably, the outgoing Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, Jahit Bagchi, has held the position since May 3, 2021.
