Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan have conducted simulated maritime security operations as part of the ongoing Power of Unity - 2026 joint military exercises in Azerbaijan, which included a practice of vessel rescue operation.

The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said patrol and amphibious ships of the Azerbaijani Navy took part in the drills at the Boyuk Zira training ground in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Caliber.Az reports.

Military personnel from all three countries were actively involved in the preparatory phase.

The exercises included securing maritime and coastal infrastructure, rescuing a vessel and hostages seized by terrorists, clearing mines, conducting an amphibious landing on an island, destroying a terrorist base, and providing first aid to wounded personnel and evacuating them.

The main objective of the exercises is to exchange experience in conducting special operations among the armed forces of friendly and allied countries and improve their ability to carry out joint operations.
