Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan discuss draft deal on division of Caspian Sea

On January 24-25, Ashgabat hosted a regular meeting of the joint working group on the division of the seabed of the Caspian Sea between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister, Special Presidential Envoy for Border and Caspian Sea Issues Khalaf Khalafov, while the Turkmen delegation was headed by Director of the Caspian Sea Institute, Special Representative of the country for the Caspian Sea Murad Atajanov. The meeting was also attended by representatives of relevant ministries and structures of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

During the meeting, the discussion of the provisions of the draft agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on the division of the seabed of the Caspian Sea continued.
