Leyla Aliyeva meets Oman's first lady in Muscat PHOTO
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, met in Muscat with the First Lady of the Sultanate of Oman, Her Highness Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah.
According to Azertag, Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah expressed her pleasure at receiving Leyla Aliyeva in Oman, noting that her social initiatives, alongside those of Azerbaijan, are highly regarded in many countries, including the Arab states of the Persian Gulf.
The First Lady highlighted her awareness of the Vice-President’s support for environmental protection, art and culture, as well as for children requiring special care, and her active participation in charitable initiatives.
She also emphasised her extensive knowledge of Azerbaijani craftsmanship, carpet weaving, and textile arts.
Expressing her satisfaction with her visit, Leyla Aliyeva thanked her hosts for the warm welcome and attention. She noted that this was her first visit to Oman and expressed confidence that the trip would give fresh impetus to future collaboration between cultural and artistic organisations in the two countries, particularly in the fields of art, carpet weaving, and textile production.
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s rich traditions in carpet weaving and textile arts, Leyla Aliyeva discussed the importance of exchanging expertise in these areas.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop joint projects between Azerbaijan and Oman in the aforementioned fields.
