Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan talk over expansion of bilateral cooperation
On November 14, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, met with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Gurbanmammet Elyasov, to review the state of bilateral relations.
The two officials held a substantive exchange of views on current cooperation and the prospects for strengthening ties between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Both sides underscored the importance of further developing their already well-established partnership across all sectors, stressing the value of regular high-level dialogue between the two countries.
During the talks, the participants highlighted the deep historical friendship and brotherhood underpinning Turkmen–Azerbaijani relations.
They noted the two nations’ shared spiritual and cultural values, as well as their commitment to peace, mutual respect and humanitarian principles. Wide-ranging opportunities were identified for expanding cooperation in political, economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.
The sides also emphasised that continued harmonious and mutually beneficial engagement within international organisations fully aligns with their common interests.
Both parties reaffirmed the strategic nature of bilateral ties and expressed mutual interest in further advancing cooperation.
