Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan ties strengthening, ambassador says

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan continues to deepen, driven by shared principles of brotherhood, mutual respect, and strategic partnership, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan said.

Gismet Gozalov made the remarks in a post on the social media platform X following his participation in a briefing organised by Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry. The event was chaired by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

During the briefing, discussions focused on key aspects of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, including its long-standing commitment to permanent neutrality and its role in regional and international affairs. Officials also reviewed the country’s diplomatic activity since the start of 2026, including foreign visits and high-level meetings.

Gozalov highlighted the steady expansion of bilateral cooperation between Baku and Ashgabat, noting that relations between the two countries continue to strengthen across multiple areas.
