Azerbaijan, UAE air force commanders discuss military cooperation PHOTO/VIDEO
Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) discussed deepening military and defence ties during a high-level meeting between the Air Force commanders of both nations in Baku.
Azerbaijani Deputy Defence Minister, Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzada met with a delegation led by the Commander of the United Arab Emirates Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Rashed Mohamed Al Shamsi, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via the Defence Ministry.
The visit began with a solemn tribute, as the UAE delegation visited the Alley of Honor, laying wreaths at the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and renowned academician Zarifa Aliyeva. The delegation also visited Victory Park, where they placed a wreath at the Victory Monument, honoring the memory of those who fought for Azerbaijan.
Following an official welcome ceremony at the Air Force Central Command Post, the two commanders held a detailed meeting. Discussions centered on the operational capabilities and ongoing activities of both nations' air forces.
The UAE delegation was then briefed on the functions and strategic role of Azerbaijan’s Air Force Command Center, which is equipped with advanced management and communication systems aligned with contemporary military standards.
The visit concluded with an open Q&A session.
