Azerbaijan, UAE foreign ministers discuss Middle East tensions in phone call
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a phone conversation on 1 March with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the escalating security situation in the Middle East.
During the call, the ministers focused on recent military clashes and rising regional tensions. Both sides expressed deep concern over the developments, highlighting the risks that ongoing military escalation poses to regional stability. They underlined the importance of respecting international law and norms, and called for resolving conflicts through dialogue and political channels, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The ministers also stressed that protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure remains a top priority. Minister Bayramov conveyed Azerbaijan’s condolences regarding the civilian casualties and injuries resulting from the confrontations.
In addition, the conversation included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
