Azerbaijan, UAE forge stronger military links amid joint drills PHOTO/VIDEO
A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan is currently on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, engaging in high-level discussions aimed at deepening bilateral military cooperation.
Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, held a bilateral meeting with UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohamed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan.
The talks focused on the current state of and future prospects for military and defence-technical cooperation between Baku and Abu Dhabi. Both sides emphasized that joint exercises and reciprocal visits play a crucial role in strengthening defence relations.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, met with Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces. The discussion highlighted the strategic significance of the ongoing joint exercises Peace Shield-2026, which involve personnel from both countries.
Following these high-level engagements, the Azerbaijani defence leadership took part in the “Senior Observer Day” as part of the joint drills.
