Azerbaijan, Uganda ink Memorandum of Understanding PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Ugandan Foreign Minister Jeje Odongo signed a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries within the framework of the ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry adds that the meeting discussed the current agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries and Jeyhun Bayramov recalled with gratitude Uganda’s support to Azerbaijan during its presidency, Report says.
In this regard, he noted that Azerbaijan will directly support Uganda's chairmanship of the movement as a member of the Troika. Noting the importance of the NAM in terms of bringing together geographically distant countries on a single platform, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that such meetings contribute to the development of relations between member countries and the discussion of prospects for expanding ties.
Jeje Odongo expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijan’s exemplary efforts to increase the influence of the movement, despite the chairmanship in a difficult period. He noted the importance of exchanging existing experience to continue the successful practice of Azerbaijan's chairmanship.
The meeting also saw an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
