Azerbaijan, Ukraine FMs discuss implementation of leaders’ agreements in phone call
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha held a telephone conversation on May 6, focusing on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and the further development of bilateral relations.
The sides reviewed issues arising from recent talks between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as current aspects of the partnership between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
The ministers discussed practical steps to advance cooperation in line with the understandings reached during the leaders’ meeting in Gabala.
In a post on X, Sybiha described the conversation as “fruitful,” thanking Bayramov for the hospitality extended during his recent visit. He noted that particular attention was paid to implementing the agreements reached during the presidential talks and identifying next steps in bilateral cooperation.
The sides also exchanged views on regional security and broader international developments.
Sybiha expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its consistent support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for humanitarian assistance, particularly in the energy sector.
Both ministers agreed to maintain an active dialogue and continue close engagement.
