Azerbaijan, Ukraine step up talks on deepening cooperation
Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, met with Denys Shmyhal, who was presented as Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told domestic media.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of events held within Baku Energy Week, whose importance was highlighted during the talks.
The sides reviewed the current state of relations and exchanged views on future cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Discussions focused on opportunities to broaden engagement across key sectors, including the economy, trade, energy and humanitarian cooperation, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
Particular emphasis was placed on Azerbaijan’s humanitarian support to Ukraine. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to its population and for Azerbaijan’s contribution to the restoration of civilian infrastructure.
