Azerbaijan, UN discuss post-conflict situation in South Caucasus PHOTO
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a meeting with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“On the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk and discussed the current agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN in the field of human rights, as well as the post-conflict regional situation,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry’s message on X.
The 79th session of the General Assembly opened on September 24 and will continue through September 28, and conclude on September 30, 2024, with the heads of states and governments of member states of the United Nations.
The session, entitled: “Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations,” pursuant to resolution 58/126, addresses a number of issues, most notably: international peace and security, sustainable development and technology.
