Azerbaijan urges citizens to refrain from travelling to Iran, Israel amid tensions
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong travel advisory, urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel to both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel due to the escalating security tensions between the two countries.
"Due to the current tense security situation between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan are advised to refrain from traveling to the Islamic Republic of Iran unless necessary," a statement from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads. "Those who do travel are advised to exercise extreme caution," Caliber.Az quotes the ministry as saying.
The ministry also called on Azerbaijani citizens already residing or travelling in Iran to prioritise their safety.
“Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran are requested to observe security and safety regulations, not to go to areas near military and nuclear facilities, and to act in accordance with the security instructions issued by local authorities,” the statement continues.
Officials underscored that these measures are precautionary and come amid rapidly evolving conditions in the region.

A similar advisory was also issued for Azerbaijani citizens in Israel, urging them to remain alert and cautious:
"Due to the current tense security situation between the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan are advised to refrain from traveling to the State of Israel unless necessary," the Ministry stated in an official notice. "Those who do travel are advised to exercise extreme caution."
The foreign ministry further called on Azerbaijani nationals currently in Israel to adhere strictly to safety recommendations.
"Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently in the State of Israel are requested to observe security and safety regulations and to act in accordance with the security instructions issued by local authorities," the statement continued.
