Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Senator Steve Daines, a member of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, to discuss the current state of and future prospects for the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The talks focused on political and economic cooperation, energy security, regional transport and logistics initiatives, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual interest, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
The sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining high-level contacts and political dialogue, while highlighting Azerbaijan's growing role as a reliable partner in energy security, transportation, and logistics. They also exchanged views on ongoing efforts to advance the Middle Corridor and strengthen East-West transport connectivity.
Discussing regional connectivity and economic cooperation, Bayramov pointed to the steady expansion of Azerbaijan's ties with Central Asian countries and underscored the new opportunities offered by the C6 format.
He noted that enhanced transport links across the Caspian Sea, continued development of the Middle Corridor, and the expansion of logistics and industrial infrastructure near the Alat International Sea Trade Port are positioning Azerbaijan as one of Eurasia's leading transport and trade hubs.
The meeting also covered the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus and the ongoing normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
FM Bayramov briefed Senator Daines on the large-scale reconstruction and restoration efforts underway in Azerbaijan's territories liberated from occupation, as well as the opportunities these developments create for broader regional cooperation and economic integration.
The sides also exchanged views on a range of other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
