Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan discuss consular cooperation and migration issues
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has announced that the latest round of consular consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on September 18.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Head of the Consular Affairs Department Emil Safarov, while the Uzbek side was headed by Bobur Azizov, Head of the Consular and Legal Department, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
The representatives from Azerbaijan's State Migration Service, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, and Uzbekistan's Agency for External Labour Migration attended the meeting. During the consultations, the participants exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of consular cooperation, including the potential for signing new bilateral agreements in this field. Discussions also covered issues related to the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens from both countries, as well as the development of bilateral relations in the areas of migration and justice.
