Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan discuss expansion of cooperation in culture, education
Director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov met with Executive Director of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Erkin Nuridinov.
At the meeting held at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center, the sides discussed expansion of bilateral cooperation, visit of the Friendship Society delegation to Azerbaijan this year, expansion of cooperation between universities of the two countries, implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Ganja State University, teaching of Azerbaijani language and literature at Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami (starting from this year), as well as implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Ganja State University, the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center told Trend.
They also discussed holding mutual lectures, solving organizational issues related to the days of Azerbaijani culture in Uzbekistan, exchanged ideas on promoting the heritage of Nizami Ganjavi, Muhammad Fuzuli and Maqsud Shayxzoda and implementing projects of translation and publication of their works.
The Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Society operates under the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan and on the basis of Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University.
