Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan pledge to expand multilateral cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have pledged to deepen multilateral cooperation across political, economic, and security areas, during a meeting between their foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 51st session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov on June 21 to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance collaboration within international organisations including the United Nations, OIC, Non-Aligned Movement, Organisation of Turkic States, Economic Cooperation Organisation, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry's statemement.
The ministers exchanged views on regional security challenges, with particular concern over the escalating Israel-Iran tensions. They also discussed political, economic, transport, communication, and humanitarian cooperation.

The meeting underlined both countries’ commitment to building a stronger strategic partnership amid growing regional and global uncertainties.
