Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan unite against terrorism, crime in high-level talks
On June 13, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan held the second round of bilateral security consultations in Baku, exchanging views on strengthening cooperation to address international terrorism, religious extremism, transnational organised crime, drug trafficking, and cybercrime.
The high-level meeting brought together delegations led by Ramil Usubov, Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council, and Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed expanding military and military-technical cooperation. The officials underscored the need for closer coordination in the fields of security and defence, particularly in light of evolving regional threats and global security challenges.
